UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, GRAPHIC DESIGN
April of this year, Caroline received first prize in packaging in the Auburn Graphic Design Student Show.
The submitted design is packaging for a fictitious high-end tea company. The project was assembled to bring forth positive connotations of the Middle East to Westerners. The designer wanted to esteem the beautiful traditions of Arab culture, and one cherished custom is tea drinking; it is a social and hospitable event. The name Oasis was chosen by associating the relaxing routine of tea drinking with an escape from the day’s chaos. The logo exhibits elements of Arabic script. An inscription of an ancient Arabic horse inspired the logo. Also the designer created the geometric patterns and selected colors associated with the beloved Arabic flavors.
