The Raistand is a modern nightstand design inspired by Chinese traditional “Raised Edge Cabinet”. The 85-degree taper makes the structure more stable and the form more elegant. Because of the taper, some frames need to be a diamond section and some tenons have a tilting angle. Two-level tabletop design gives the user a freedom to arrange the objects in a variety of different ways. Also, the bended steel rod is sandwiched between two pieces of wood to reinforce the tabletop corners.
