Kaitlin McPheeters

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, GRAPHIC DESIGN

McPheeters is a junior in graphic design. She has received numerous awards for her work. She has been featured in the Auburn University Graphic Design Juried Show spring 2015 and spring 2016. She received the Graphic Design Studio Award two years in a row. Her work was peer selected for submission to Mohawk Paper and featured on their Felt & Wire blog.

The submitted piece is a chocolate packaging project from Intro to Design. The objective of the project was to design chocolate for the persona of your choosing. McPheeters designed City Sugar Chocolates for the persona of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. McPheeters used bright colors, hand lettering, and witty titles for each flavor of chocolate. The flavors include “Your Stupid Boyfriend Broke Up with You,” “A Glass of Wine Just Won’t Do It,” “Forget the Diet,” and “PMS…Enough Said.” Brush hand lettering was used to give the packaging a youthful and intimate feel. The outer package was designed in black and white to assimilate to any fashion boutique in New York. It has a pop of color to evoke Carrie’s vibrant personality.
