Purpose
The Astronomical Society at Auburn University is a student-lead organization focused on engaging students from a diverse set of backgrounds and majors in the field of Astronomy. No prior knowledge relating to Astronomy is required or expected for anyone who is interested in joining! We are dedicated to providing a platform for Auburn students, faculty, staff, and the local Auburn community to observe and learn about the beautiful wonders that fill our night sky.
Goals
- Educate people of all ages and backgrounds about our Universe!
- Provide an interactive environment for people to share and discuss different topics in Astronomy.
- Provide access to Astronomy resources such as telescopes and interactions with professional astronomers which they would not otherwise have access to.
- Educate the general public about topics in Astronomy, with a specific focus on our youth.
