Auburn Source of Attosecond Pulses laboratory
The Auburn Source of Attosecond Pulses (ASAP) is a state-of-the-art laboratory facility for research on attosecond science sponsored by the Physics Department, the College of Sciences and Mathematics, and the Office of Provost at Auburn University. Currently, our principal areas of research include the development of novel sources of attosecond pulse of light in the Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) wavelength regime, the development of innovative methods to characterize the temporal profile of such attosecond pulses, and their application to the study of ultrafast dynamical processes in matter down to the attosecond timescale.
Our research activities are currently funded by:
- The U.S. Department of Energy, office of Basic Science (DOE-BES)
- The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR)
