An alternative spring break

Midterms are over, and you can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Do you remember the feeling? I’m sure you’re blood pressure spikes just thinking about it.

You’ve spent the entire semester dragging yourself out of bed, shuffling half asleep to class and then cramming for the weeks, days and hours leading up to the dreaded exam. But it’s OK, it’s behind you, and now it’s time for spring break!

What are some of your favorite spring break memories?

For college students it’s a perfect time to take a break from the reality of classes, homework, projects and exams and finally be able to relax.

The beach is a popular destination for many college students. It’s the epitome of relaxation. You can sit in the sand with a cold drink, warm sun and listen to the soft crash of waves hitting against the shore.

Auburn University is offering an alternative spring break option for students wanting to participate in community service programs. Alternative Student Breaks is a program that engages students in an affordable, substance free experiential service learning project. They encourage the understanding of pressing social issues in a significant way.

At the Auburn Magazine we hope everybody enjoys their week off, no matter how it’s spent. Also, try not to feel sorry for those of us that have to work.

War Eagle!
