Professor Ed Williams to Retire After 30 Years


Long time Professor of Journalism, King Edsel (Ed) Williams, formally announced his retirement at the Department of Communication and Journalism’s August faculty meeting.

Professor Williams began teaching at Auburn in 1983.

He served as faculty advisor of the Auburn Plainsman for 23 years and established the King Edsel (Ed) Williams Jr. Endowed Scholarship in Journalism when he stepped down from his advising duties.

Over his 30 year career, Professor Williams has made numerous contributions to the department, the university, and to Alabama journalism.
