Using item response theory to improve assessment and learning in large general chemistry classes

Item Response Theory (IRT) is a modern psychometric analytic tool that provides more information about assessment items than Classical Test Theory (CTT).  Dr. Atwood’s team have applied IRT to different sets of data, and he will report on results of these analyses, and impact upon student learning.
