Chris has worked since 2013 with global clients on portfolios of real estate development in the UK and EU. Prior to moving to London, his focus was loan portfolios for domestic and international clients enforcing clients’ rights in various markets across the US. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Auburn University and an MBA from the University in Southern Mississippi.

Trails and pond are surrounded by apartments

The second annual symposium event was held virtually on May 13th, 2021. Leading Urban Trails experts analyzed the future of Urban Trails and their impact on real estate development and communities. Prominent real estate developers discussed both their current and future developments along urban trails. Key panelists from Alpharetta, Asheville, Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Columbia, Columbus, Greenville, and Washington D.C. were present. The conversation focused on the growth and opportunities for major urban trails, new developments, and emerging trends around the country which will be adjacent to these urban trails. This talented and experienced team shared some of the unique challenges and opportunities of these cutting edge developments along with the long term transformational impact they have on their local communities.

Auburn University’s Master of Real Estate Development Program held its first annual CityBuilders Symposium and Networking Event on  May 15th, 2019 at SunTrust Park. This special symposium featured an All-Star panel consisting of Mike Plant, President and CEO Braves Development, Jeremy Hull, Director of Wakefield Beasley and Associates’ Planning Studio, and David Demarest, International Director Jones Lang LaSalle. The conversation focused on both the history and development of the Battery at SunTrust Park and new developments and trends at future mixed-use developments around the country which will be anchored by sports complexes.  This talented and experienced team shared some of the unique challenges and opportunities of these cutting edge developments along with the long term transformational impact they have on their local communities.

After the All-Star panel, an exclusive private industry Networking event was held on the spectacular Xfinity rooftop patio above right field during the Braves game.  Participants networked with other industry leaders and watched the Atlanta Braves play the St. Louis Cardinals.

2019 Outlook Panel

Leading executives in real estate development shared their perspectives at the CityBuilders 2019 Outlook panel Jan. 24 at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.

This program was open to Auburn MRED students and alumni, Auburn alumni in the real estate industry and friends of the MRED program.

Panelists included: Lyle Darnall, managing director, Edens, Columbia, South Carolina; Kurt O’Brien, CEO, Simply Self Storage, Orlando, Florida; Mark Wolf, principal, JHP Architecture/Urban Design, Dallas; Wesley Lee, senior vice president, BB&T, Birmingham; and Pat Henry, president, Daniel Corp., Birmingham.

These professionals discussed the opportunities and challenges in real estate development across various property types and marketplaces.

2018 Outlook Panel

CityBuilders began with a panel discussion attended by alumni and MRED students, who were on campus for the first MRED program residency. The hour-long event at The Hotel at Auburn University featured a panel of Auburn MRED Advisory Board members with expertise in real estate development and finance. In addition to the many industry themes covered, students had the opportunity to ask questions of panel members regarding industry trends and common hurdles in development projects.

The panelists included Warren Jolly, Michael Rogers, Dan Lovell and Gerry Cabaniss.
