Student Media gives students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in several different media fields. Whether its a subject you are studying here at Auburn or just a hobby, we look for students with a passion to create and inform. There are several different organizations you can join within Student Media. Check out our video which explains the groups a bit further.
Student Media at Auburn consists of the five following groups:
The Glomerata: Auburn’s yearbook
The Auburn Circle: Auburn’s literary magazine
Eagle Eye TV: Auburn’s student-run broadcast station
WEGL 91.1 FM: Auburn’s student-run variety radio station
The Auburn Plainsman: Auburn’s weekly newspaper and daily online news source
Stop by our offices on the first floor in the student center. Our staff is always hanging around and willing to answer questions.
We are extremely thrilled to introduce our new editorial staff for 2013-14! If you have any questions for these guys, please check our Staff page for their names and emails. Throughout the year, we will give you the chance to learn more about each editor so make sure to check our page often! War Eagle and have a great summer!
Tim Cook’s independent photos all four years while he was studying at Auburn.
Tim Cook, current CEO of Apple, is an alumni of Auburn! He was here from 1979-1982, graduating with a BS in Industrial Engineering. Not only is this a cool and fun fact about him, an even cooler one was that he took a student photo for the Glomerata all four years while he was here. (Which is a great flashback to the 80s he rocked an afro). So while you are here at Auburn make sure to pick up your yearbook from April 15-19 and if you didn’t take an independent photo this year make sure to take one next year!
