We Are Here To Help

Health Promotion & Wellness Services provides a wide array of evidence-based programs to address alcohol and substance use issues. Through our programs, students are able to explore how their substance use may be impacting other areas of their life in a non-judgmental and safe environment. Furthermore, students are able to learn skills to reduce their risk for substance related consequences, including negative effects on health, academic performance, and finances.

In all of our services and programs, we utilize a harm reduction approach. Through this approach, we:

  • Support the choice of individuals who choose not to use alcohol and/or substances
  • Recognize the risks associated with alcohol and substance use
  • Share information about laws and policies related to alcohol and substances
  • Encourage students to know the recommendations for use of their prescription drugs
  • Facilitate conversations about how to use alcohol and substances in less risky ways

What if I need to reschedule my TESI appointment?

If you need to reschedule an appointment, please email tesi@auburn.edu.

We ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your original appointment time to avoid incurring a late cancellation fee. This advanced notice enables us to be flexible and efficient in scheduling appointments with other students.

We understand that students may have extenuating circumstances (e.g., illness, personal or family emergency, etc.) that may require them to cancel or reschedule their TESI appointment. As always, our staff is happy to accommodate students’ schedules as these circumstances arise.

What software is being use to ensure appointments are confidential and secure?

During this time, our staff continues to prioritize the confidentiality of appointments. Our staff will be doing appointments from a private and confidential space and we encourage students to do the same. We will use Zoom software to complete appointments, which can be accessed through Auburn University’s Biggio Center. A HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom can also be accessed through https://ausecure.zoom.us. If you already have a Zoom account, you will be prompted to ‘Switch to the New Account’ and then choose ‘I Acknowledge and Switch’ to complete the transfer to the HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom.
