General Photography

Do you take professional headshot photos?

We take professional headshot photos for all University staff, faculty, students, and TES employees. Please fill out and submit a request form by visiting our Request Photographer page to get started.

Do you take individual headshots for a large group of people or whole departments?

For traditional, formal headshots on a studio background, with lighting, we can schedule a time for your campus group, department, or college to come in to our studio to do individual headshots during a scheduled slot. To get started please fill out and submit a request form for a “headshot” by visiting our Request Photographer page. If you wish to have a group photo taken, and not individual head shots, please fill out the “group shot” request form instead.

Do you shoot headshots on location?

On-site headshots can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. Keep in mind on-site are usually for those individuals or departments who may want less formal headshots for their website.

For on-site headshot appointments we usually only schedule 1 time slot on 1 day, exceptions can be made to organize one slot in the morning and one in the afternoon (i.e. Monday 2pm-3pm and Tuesday 9am-10am). However the photographers prefer everyone be there on the same one day if possible for scheduling purposes. On-site shoots also make it hard to do make-ups for those who miss the shoot day(s). For more traditional/formal headshots we can schedule a time for you or your group to come into our studio to do individual headshots.

How do I book a photographer for an event, headshot, or publication?

Please visit our Request Photographer page to fill out and submit the corresponding form for your type of request. The more information we have the more likely we are to understand and quickly fulfill your needs for photography. Please give at least a 2 day notice when sending in a request. Headshots are only taken on Mondays; exceptions can be make for a large group of individuals by calling our office or sending an email to auphoto@auburn.edu after filling out and submitting a request form.

How do I get a copy of my headshot?

Campus communicators, who have a signed agreement on file with our office, within each college/school/department have access to download images (i.e. headshots) for University purposes. Your campus communicator will be in charge of making sure your image is sent to the correct person for University use.

You can purchase a high resolution digital copy of your headshot for personal use for $35 by visiting our Image Library.

Do you shoot Passport photos?

*** WE ARE UNABLE TO SHOOT PASSPORT PHOTOS AT THIS TIME, OUR PASSPORT PHOTO MACHINE IS DOWN***

(Please check back for status updates; you can get passport photos taken at Cameragraphics or any CVS.)

We have a passport machine that specifically shoots 2×2 images on a white background for passport applications. The cost is $9 plus tax and you will receive (2) 2×2 prints of the photo. These are not offered digitally at this time.

Do you take University faculty/staff or student ID photos?

We do NOT take ID photos of any kind.

AU Student ID photos can be made at the Student Center, and Faculty/Staff ID photos can be made in the OIT building located at 300 Lem Morrison Drive (across from the Forestry and Wildlife Building on Duncan Drive).

Do you shoot sporting events?

In the past we shot all sporting events, but for the last several years the Athletics department has been taking these photos. We do take photos at every home football game and usually any championship football games.

For University departments/colleges that have special photography needs during football games, such as special presentations during half-time, will need to submit a Request Photographer form- no charges will be incurred as long as the photos are for web or publication use.

Do your photographers shoot private events?

Our photographers DO NOT shoot private events (weddings, parties, reunions, retirements etc.).

Photographic Services photographers are available for University events; charges may be incurred. See our Service & Fees page for more information.

How do I order prints?

To order prints please go to our Image Library page and search using categories or keywords to purchase images (not all images are available for purchase). Keywords can be dates (YYYYMMDD), event names, location names, etc.

Graduation

Do you take pictures at Graduation?

We take graduation photos during each graduation ceremony as the graduate walks across the stage and shakes the President’s hand. We do not take any other photos during graduation. We DO offer cap & gown portraits in our studio 2 or 3 days prior to graduation. Do you take Graduation photos in front of Samford?

We do NOT take photos in front of Samford Hall. As an alternative, we DO offer cap & gown portraits in our studio 2 or 3 days prior to graduation. For more information view our Graduation Cap and Gown Page or to make an appointment you can schedule online with our C&G Appointment Scheduler. 

What should I expect if I get Cap & Gown portraits taken?

Cap & Gown portraits are offered every semester 2 or 3 days prior to the graduation ceremony in our studio. We offer 3 backgrounds- Samford  Hall, bookcase, brown portrait- during your sitting. The cost is $33.74 for 3- 5x7s & 12 wallets (1- 5×7 of each background and 4- wallets of each background). We provide caps, gowns, tassels, and diploma folders if you choose to use them. Hoods for Masters or Doctoral graduates and other honor/organization accessories are not provided. Photographs can either be taken in cap and gown or attire of your choice. You can purchase 2 packages if you would like both.

How do I schedule to take Cap & Gown portraits?

You can schedule your portrait session online by using our C&G Appointment Scheduler or calling our office at 334.844.4560 to make an appointment.

What is the cost for Cap & Gown portraits?

Cap & Gown portrait packages are $33.74 and include 3- 5×7’s and 12 wallets (1- 5×7 and 4 wallets of each background). We offer 3 backgrounds- Samford Hall, bookcase, and a brown portrait. You can take photos in cap and gown or in attire of your choosing; you can pay for 2 packages if you would like to do photos in both.

How far back do you keep Graduation photos?

We archive and keep graduation photos for every year. Our digital archives date back to 2004 and we may have some graduation photos in our negative archives; availability will be determined on a case by case basis.

You can view and order graduation photos online if you graduated after 2012; you will need to call 334-844-4560 to place an order if you graduated before 2012.

Can I purchase a digital copy of my Graduation photo?

We offer graduation photos of each graduate walking across the stage and shaking the President’s hand for sale on our Image Library site. You can choose between a print package, prices range from $25 to $32, or choose to purchase a digital copy for $35.

Do you sell Graduation DVD’s?

We no longer offer Graduation DVD’s for purchase.

Online Ordering

How can I purchase photos online?

Visit our Image Library page to browse through and order prints of selected images, including graduation photos.

In order to purchase images and get access to lightboxes and invitation-only galleries, you must have a free account with PhotoShelter. PhotoShelter is a service which provides image delivery, sales and storage capabilities for Auburn University Photographic Services. You can Sign up for a free account or LogIn with an existing one.

Can I purchase a digital copy of my headshot online?

You can purchase a high resolution digital copy of your headshot, for personal use only, by visiting our Image Library.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept checks,  cash, MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card payments. We do NOT accept American Express (Amex).

If you pay with a check extra processing time is required, which may delay your order for up to 3 weeks.

How do I track my order?

When you order photos from our Image Library you will create an account, you will be able to track the status of your order from your account home page. If you have problems tracking your order please send an email to auphoto@auburn.edu.

Image Library Access

Can I use my existing Auburn University username and password to login to the Image Library?

NO, you cannot use your existing username and password. But you will need to use your Auburn University email address.

Since PhotoShelter is a third party site there is no way for the site to pull University employee information so you will need to create a new account with PhotoShelter to view or download images from the Image Library. Please DO use your Auburn University email address as your username/login with any password of your choosing. You are welcome to use your University password if that makes it easier for you to remember.

How do I login to the Image Library?

You can login to our image library by going to the Image Library page and clicking on the login button located in the main menu bar at the top of the page.

You must have an account before you can login. In order to purchase images and get access to lightboxes and invitation-only galleries, you must have a free account with PhotoShelter. PhotoShelter is a service which provides image delivery, sales and storage capabilities for Auburn University Photographic Services. You can Sign up for a free account or LogIn with an existing one.

Why isn’t my login working?

You must have an account before you can login.

*If you are a Campus Communicator please use your existing Auburn University email address as your username/login email. You may create a password of your choosing.

Why can’t I download images from the Image Library?

Only Campus Communicators, who have been authorized and have a signed agreement form on file, have full access to download images for University publication and web use from the Image Library. If you believe you should have access, but are having trouble downloading content, please send us an email at auphoto@auburn.edu.

Only certain images are available for public purchase (print or digital), although anyone can create an account, only campus communicators will have the ability to download images not available to the public.

How do I get access to the Image Library for downloading images for University use?

Campus Communicators who have a signed agreement form on file with our office have access to download images from our Image Library for University publication and web use. To request access as a campus communicator please send an email with your name and job title to auphoto@auburn.edu.

Who is a Campus Communicator?

A Campus Communicator is a member of the campus wide CampCom group, which was formed in 2002, with a goal of enhancing the communications efforts among those who promote Auburn University. For more information visit ocm.auburn.edu/campcom or our Campus Communicators Info page.
