The Kreher Preserve & Nature Center is maintained by two full time team members and a small army of dedicated, part-time educators , naturalists, and administrators.

 

Michael Buckman, Manager

Michael grew up with a passion for nature and the outdoors, exploring every animal and plant he came across.  He graduated with a degree in Zoology from Auburn University in 2005 and spent over a decade focused on educating the public about our natural environment at Callaway Gardens’ Day Butterfly Center.  He joined the team at the KPNC in November of 2018 and works to enhance the communications, marketing, and overall administrative management of the preserve.

 

Jennifer Lolley, Outreach Administrator

Jennifer has been leading the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center since 2007 and is responsible for its success, making the KPNC an invaluable resource for the community!  She has an incredibly deep and diverse knowledge of environmental education and a passion for nature, which she uses to make the Preserve better every day.  Jennifer supervises the grounds and facilities of the KPNC and she is the chief curator of programs, live collections, and outreach activities.

 

Sarah Crim, Education Director

Sarah has her B.S. and M.S. in Forestry from Auburn University and enjoys working with children and adults as they further their outdoor education and foster their love for nature.  Sarah is the lead teacher at the KPNC’s Woodland Wonders Nature Preschool and coordinator of many of the KPNC’s environmental education initiatives.

 

Marshall Herron, Caretaker

Marshall has a degree in Wildlife Ecology & Management from Auburn University and a passion for the environment that he loves to pass on to visitors by leading educational programs and especially nature hikes.  He works hard to complete the odd jobs and maintain the grounds of the KPNC to ensure each guest has a wonderful experience and the forests of the KPNC remain healthy and beautiful!

 

Mary Middleton, Naturalist

Mary has a background in education and biology and enjoys teaching about a variety of subjects.  When she is not teaching, you can find her on her farm working with her horses or helping out her family.

 

Mindy Walden, Naturalist

Mindy has her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and worked for several years educating the public about health concerns and risks.  She teaches a variety of subjects, but her favorite is teaching others about the reptiles of Alabama.
