Birding How-to: eBird

May 21, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 pm

Free

We are all looking for ways to contribute to the protection and conservation of our environment, and there is no better way then to become an eBird user!

Birding is fun and exciting!  It can be as relaxed or as challenging as you want it to be.  And when you start looking for birds, you experience the amazing and exceptional diversity of colors and forms that nature has to offer!

eBird, a completely free app designed and managed by Cornell University, is the most important birding tool for both amateurs and experts alike.  Join the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center educators and guest instructors for an introduction to this essential tool.  You will have the opportunity to install the app on your mobile device and you’ll learn how to use it, and how it is used to help protect birds and their native habitats around the world!

We’ll also take you on a walk through the woods to seek out birds and put your new skills to use!

This Birding How-to workshop is free and appropriate for all ages – donations are welcomed.

This event is held at the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center located at 2222 N. College Street near the AU Fisheries and Hwy 280. For more information, visit auburn.edu/preserve, email preserve@auburn.edu, or call 334-844-8091.
