Birding HOW-TO: Mobile Apps for Birding
January 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
We are all looking for ways to contribute to the protection and conservation of our environment, and there is no better way then to become a birder!
Birding is fun and exciting! It can be as relaxed or as challenging as you want it to be. And when you start looking for birds, you experience the amazing and exceptional diversity of colors and forms that nature has to offer!
eBird and NestWatch, completely free apps designed and managed by Cornell University, are the most important birding tools for both amateurs and experts alike. Join the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center educators and guest instructors for an introduction to these essential tools. You will have the opportunity to install the apps on your mobile device and you’ll learn how to use them, and how they are used to help protect birds and their native habitats around the world!
We’ll also take you on a walk through the woods to seek out birds and nests and put your new skills to use!
This Birding How-to workshop is free and appropriate for all ages – donations are welcomed. Meet at the pavilion. The workshop will be cancelled in the event of rain. Please follow our Facebook page for updates.
