CWE Parent Run

For the past 19 years, Dr. Doug Hankes has led a three-mile running tour of campus with other Auburn University faculty and staff members during each of the Camp War Eagle sessions.

The run starts at 6:00 am outside of the Auburn University Student Center in front of Starbucks.

As described in the CWE Parent Schedule:

You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll experience the full range of human emotion as you join psychologist, Dr. Doug Hankes (Director, Student Counseling Services), and other Auburn University faculty and staff members for an early morning run (3-3.5 miles) around Auburn’s beautiful, yet deceptively hilly campus. The pace varies according to the group (minimum 12 minutes per mile) but count on a sweaty, solid effort. The 2017 CWE sessions will mark the 20th anniversary for the run.

The Pace

The pace varies according to the group but count on a sweaty, solid effort. Those who want run fast can do so. Those who want to start slow and taper off are very welcome too. Nobody is too fast or too slow!
