About Boards and Committees
The University Boards and Committees are appointed by and are advisory to the President of Auburn University. Each Spring the SGA Director of University Boards and Committees, in partnership with the SGA President, will conduct a competitive application process in order to select students that most demonstrate the capacity and desire to serve their board or committee of interest. Selected students will then be recommended by the SGA President to the President of Auburn University for official appointment.
These committees may be under the purview of a member of the University’s central administration who will be responsible for convening these committees at regular intervals and whenever the need for committee action arises. Committee appointments will become effective at the beginning of the fall semester and will expire at the end of the summer term. The Office of the President will distribute a list of members of the University Boards Committees each fall. Each standing committee will have a written statement of its operating procedures and submit an annual report of their activities to the President of Auburn University.
Because of the direct advisory nature of University Boards and Committees to the Auburn University President, students who are chosen to serve will have the opportunity to be an integral part of key administrative decision making while working alongside members of the University’s faculty and staff. This is a rare and valuable opportunity for involvement that students often overlook while a student at Auburn University.

Please take a moment to determine the boards and committees that most interest you, while keeping in mind that not every board or committee has a student seat. It would be our desire that all students with a board or committee interest apply for a seat this spring.
Student Communications Board -
VP for Student Affairs
This committee is a product of the SGA Communications Code which specifies its membership.
The Student Communications Board is made up of certain faculty and staff but is not a University Committee. It is a committee created by the Student Communications Code.
Composition of the committee in the past has been:
The board shall provide overall supervision for the financial and editorial management of student publications and broadcasts funded by Student Activities Fees. (19 members)
