Dating all the way back to World War II, Auburn University’s student body and members of the Student Government Association pushed for a day that would unite the Auburn Family and promote a friendly atmosphere known as HEY DAY.
Each year we carry on this tradition of handing out name tags and encouraging students, faculty, and the rest of the Auburn Family to greet one another with the Auburn Spirit in an effort to bring all those part of Auburn closer together. HEY DAY has become one of Auburn University’s longest and most cherished traditions and is a day the student body has grown to love and look forward to each year.
This year’s Hey Day is Wednesday October 4th. It will focus on a celebration of the spirit that unifies all Auburn students, faculty, and alumni into one Auburn family. This day will serve as a reminder that each member of the Auburn family is unique but important, and it will aim to draw-in all parts of our family in celebration of all that is Auburn.
Celebrate one of Auburn’s most cherished traditions with us by wearing a nametag and joining us for free food, games, and entertainment on the Campus Green for this year’s Hey Day on October 4th.
If would like to volunteer to help out with this year’s event, please fill out a volunteer interest form. You can find it by going to AUinvolve or aub.ie/heyday. Volunteers will be working a Name Tag station, Food, T-Shirt, or Campus Green station the day of Hey Day.
