The Geography Student Organization is celebrating Geography Awareness Week and Geographic Information Systems Day.

Established by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress in 1987 and observed the third week in November every year, Geography Awareness Week promotes what geography is, why it is important and the relevance of a geographic education in preparing citizens to understand and debate pressing social and environmental issues and problems.

The campus community is invited to celebrate with the Geography Student Organization. Members of the organization will be showcasing data collection using a drone, and the event will include games and prizes. Free frood, drinks and snacks will also be provided.
