2016 UFWH Summit:
From Poverty to Promise
Nearly 400 university students, faculty, administrators, and leaders from the private and public sectors gathered at the University of Missouri – Columbia for the 11th Annual Summit from February 25-27. Keynote speakers included World Food Prize Laureate Catherine Bertini and Journalist and author Roger Thurow. Interactive sessions featured panels of experts as well as students sharing best practices. Topics ranged from a how-to session tutorial on developing state-wide Hunger Dialogues to discussions on mitigating hunger through social protection, innovative solutions through public-private partnerships and how the media treats hunger.
Each year hundreds of students, representing UFWH activities at campuses around the world, gather to share best practices and inspiration, listen to world-renowned keynote speakers and honor extraordinary student leaders. The Summit has been hosted at various campuses around the world – including George Washington University in Washington DC, Guelph University in Ontario, Canada and National University of Agriculture (UNA) in Honduras.
