Welcome

I am a Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Geology and Geography at Auburn University.  My primary research interests are in the areas of seismic hazard and near-surface geophysics.  I hold a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Alaska Geophysical Institute in Fairbanks and an M.A. in English Literature from Binghamton University in New York state. For details, see my curriculum vitae.

In addition to research and teaching in the geosciences, I serve as the Director of Undergraduate Research for Auburn University, with a current undergraduate population a little over 20,000 students. For a small sampling of undergraduate research, see the Auburn University Journal of Undergraduate Scholarship (AUJUS), which is a refereed publication sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Office of University Writing.
