Kathy Forshey

Kathy Forshey is a graduate from Auburn University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Pulp and Paper Engineering.

Kathy started her career at Boise Cascade Corporation in Jackson, Alabama in 1996. Kathy worked 3 years as a process engineer and as a shift supervisor. Next she worked at International Paper Corporation in Pensacola, Florida for seven years. Kathy’s roles and responsibilities included process engineering and a year special assignment leading an energy reduction initiative that saved the mill $7MM annually. During these seven years, Kathy also worked as a shift supervisor leading a rotating shift team in the power generation and chemical recovery areas.

In 2006, Kathy joined GE Plastics, now SABIC, as a process engineer in the compounding plant, leading downtime reduction, stable operations, and efficiency efforts within the unit. In 2007, Kathy was promoted to the Finishing Production Manager. Kathy transitioned to the role of Employee Development Leader in 2010 to pursue her passion of developing the capability of others. In 2014, Kathy joined the Supply Chain Management team leading the Raw Material Planning team for the 11 Americas Innovative Plastics’ sites.

While in Pensacola, Kathy led three Relay for Life campaigns at the International Paper Mill. In 2008, she led the SABIC first Relay for Life campaign in both Montgomery and Lowndes County. Relay for Life is the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.

Kathy is married and resides with her husband, Larry, in Deatsville, Alabama.
