Diaco Aviki

Diaco Aviki is the Atlantic Basin Natural Gas Marketing Manager for BHP Billiton Ltd., located in Houston.

In this position, Diaco provides guidance for near term optimization of natural gas sales and longer term strategic business planning.

Diaco began his career with Exxon Lubricant and Petroleum Specialties in 1995 and after 16 fantastic years with ExxonMobil accepted an exciting opportunity with BHP Billiton in 2011 as they assimilated two large shale acquisitions in excess of $20 Billion. Over the past 17 years, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in commercial, analytical and management assignments in Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties, Chemicals, and Gas Marketing. Diaco has been a National Account Manager, Brand Manager, Chemicals Feedstock Planner, and Natural Gas Trader. He is a Certified Lubrication Specialist and has worked in North Carolina, Louisiana, Virginia, and England.

Before accepting his current role with BHP in November 2011, Diaco lead the natural gas marketing team involved with the commissioning of the ExxonMobil Golden Pass LNG Terminal that set a performance record for regassified LNG send-out in North America.

Diaco has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and has an MBA from the University of Texas. Diaco has been active in various civic organizations in the cities where he has lived and worked. He is the director of a Sunday School class at his local church and was recently the 2011 Campaign Manager for ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing United Way Campaign. He is an Advisory Board Member for the Engineering Department at Auburn University. He and his wife, Angela, have two children that keep them very, very active.
