Forest Products Development Center School of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences

The Forest Products Development Center (FPDC) is located within the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University. Our mission is to discover, innovate, and publicize new information and product development for industry, government, society, and students in the area of biomaterials and packaging. We/FPDC achieve this research and educational mission by working across campus with the College of Engineering, College of Architecture, College of Agriculture, College of Business, and our School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. These 5 entities have collaborated to create our new undergraduate curriculum in Sustainable Biomaterials and Packaging. These 5 Colleges also support the FPDC by collaborating in a systems approach to research. In the last 5 years, we have achieved nearly $1,000,000 in AFRI-NIFA funding between Chemical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, and FPDC to make polymers from trees!
