If you hang out around our office long enough you will find that we have a language all of our own. Below is a shortlist of words you might hear us throw around that you don’t know.

B&F
Budget & Finance: the process in which the budget & finance committee in Student Government Association senate allocates the Student Activity Fee to all five SAPs. Typically happens on the first of each academic year.
CAMPUS EVENT PLANNING SYSTEM (CEPS)
All events being held on campus must submit an event request form. Events are defined as gatherings or competitions with multiple people in attendance.

CODE OF LAWS
The governing document of the Student Government Association that guides the overarching direction of SAPs in terms of requirements for their existence and items such as student salaries, advisor review, budget & finance, registered student organization requirements, etc.
COI
Certificate of Insurance: student organizations and third parties are not covered under Auburn University’s General Liability Policy and may be asked to provide a Certificate of General Liability Insurance for events. If your organization or party does not have coverage, you may obtain a Tenant User’s Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP).
DOSA
Division of Student Affairs: 14 departments that aim to cultivate a healthy and supportive campus environment that engages students, advances learning, encourages leadership and prepares students for future success.
OCM
Office of Communications & Marketing: is responsible for the integrity, implementation, and management of the Auburn University brand.
P-CARD
Visa Purchasing Card: a credit card that advisors have to make business related purchases (tax free).
PBS
Procurement & Business Services: the budget office that manages all financial related business for the university.
PREFERRED VENDOR
A business that Auburn University has awarded a contract via bid process to have offer special pricing for specific products; rental car – Enterprise, shipping – FedEx, office supplies – Staples, etc.
RESOURCE BANK
Resource Bank: a collection of technology (iPads, walkie-talkies, cameras, video cameras, etc.) that is shared by all SAPs. Established in 2014 by SGA.
SAF
Student Activity Fee; every Auburn student pays $54 per semester in addition to their tuition to provide student engagement opportunities outside of the classroom.
SAP
Student Activity Portfolio; a student activity fee-funded portfolio that contains student activity programs. There are five SAPs– Leadership & Service, Student Governance, Student Media, Student Programming, and Student Organizations.
SI
Student Involvement; Six SAOs that aim to engage and empower students by providing developmental opportunities that enhance individual learning and leadership through diverse student-centered environment.
AUBURN STUDENT MEDIA GROUP
One SAP that strives to share the “Auburn Story” in a professional manner while creating invaluable career experiences for students.
SUITE 3130
The office location for Student Involvement within the Melton Student Center where five of six SAPs are housed.
SVPSA
Senior Vice President for Student Affairs: chief student affairs officer for the university (Dr. Bobby Woodard).
