Rooted in Music

Rooted in Music is a free music program for young children and their caregivers. Designed for children ages 6 and younger (though older children are welcome too!), the program aims to encourage a love for music through song, rhyme, dance, and musical games. Now in its fourth year, Rooted in Music is partnering with the Kreher Preserve for the first time this summer. The program is led by Noemí Oeding (née deSilva), a classically trained opera singer and former elementary music teacher. Drawing on her vast knowledge of early childhood music, Noemí offers a fun filled half hour program that encourages both kids and their adults to make music together. Adult participation is required!

Rooted in Music meets every Monday in June and July (except July 4th) at 9:00am in the Pond Pavilion at the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center. It is best to park in the north parking lot off of Farmville Road (look for the water tower – the entrance to the parking lot is directly across the street). The path is stroller friendly, though it is dirt, so plan accordingly. There is no registration required, and you may attend whenever you wish.

Rooted in Music is free and open to the public. Donations to the Kreher Preserve are always welcome, but not required.

Join Noemí and her three kiddos as they sing and dance in the woods!
