On August 19, AWW Staffers Mona and Sydney headed to Prattville to conduct a Water Chemistry and Bacteriological Monitoring Field Day in partnership with Alabama Watershed Stewards (AWS).

Darrue Stewart, the Autauga County Extension Coordinator, stopped by during lunch to share about the ongoing programs in the county along with other upcoming ACES Events. Special thanks to Darrue and Kacey Powell, Autauga County 4-H Regional Extension Agent, for coordinating our workshop location at Trustmark Bank!

Skip Lobmiller, President of the Autauga Creek Improvement Committee, also happened to be at our field location, which is one of their kayak launches, at the Prattville Creekwalk. The organization often hosts litter pickups and other opportunities for volunteers.

Through the AWS program, a water chemistry monitoring kit and bacteriological monitoring supplies were provided to the Autauga County Extension Office for certified monitors to check out.
